Tulsa Disc Herniation Pain Eased with Chiropractic
We have helped many people in Tulsa, OK over the years who were afflicted with back pain, and some of those individuals had been diagnosed with a herniated disc. Earlier research has shown that chiropractic can be an excellent way to relieve the pain of disc herniation in the lumbar spine and other research has shown that it can relieve herniations in the cervical spine, as well.
Now a new case report improves our knowledge of the benefits of chiropractic care for disc herniations. This article focuses on a 45-year-old patient who had a 2-year history of "chronic mild low back pain and right buttock pain." The patient reported a worsening of the radicular pain down her right leg, and also experienced intermittent prickling in her right foot. These are all indications of neurological problems, and are serious symptoms.
The patient sought help from a chiropractic physician, who treated the patient with chiropractic adjustments and "advanced myofascial release therapy." The therapy consisted of 2 weeks of adjustments and an extra four weeks of home exercises and therapy.
The patient reported a "significant improvement in her low back pain and radiculopathy. In addition, she achieved some improvement in balance."
This report confirms what we see in our Tulsa, OK practice: chiropractic care is great for decreasing the pain of disc herniations without pills or high-risk surgery.
